The Pet Nannies business began in early 2017 from my love of animals and a desire work with them. In our research I found my passion, to lift the standards of pet care services in New Zealand.
In a market that is flooded with 'cowboys', I have put my heart and soul into creating a pet care service that provides top quality pet care and true peace of mind to South Auckland Pet Parents. My mission is to create a company not only focused on the client, but also focused on the happiness and well being of it's employees.
Using specialised software, procedures, fabulous staff and being covered by liability insurance to ensure the safety of pets, staff and home, we can provide owners true peace of mind.
The Pet Nannies are happy to care for ALL kinds of pets, large and small, young and old, in good or bad health. Medications and insulin shots are fine with us, post surgery your pet may need more attention than usual, and we know how difficult it is to get away when you have an elderly or diabetic pet. We are able to take over from you, update you with pictures, video and messaging and give you that peace of mind you need. We even have a Fur-babysitting service if you only need to pop out for a few hours.
When you first book with The Pet Nannies you will see from the beginning that we are professional, caring, flexible and safety focussed, from the first contact to the completion of services. A large focus for our team is being worthy of your trust and giving you the actual peace of mind that you are paying us for.
One thing that is crucial is that there are foolproof systems in place to stop unacceptable errors. I have spent time pouring through customer feedback, complaints from other pet care businesses and facebook groups and forums, and learning from them, to ensure The Pet Nannies Ltd has all bases covered when it comes to the care and safety of your pets and also my employees.
The complimentary Meet & Greet meeting ensures everyone is safe, introduced, completely informed and in agreement about the services provided. These meetings will usually be attended by your sitter and a back up sitter, who will step in if your main sitter can't cover your booking. This means you will never have a stranger in your home.
Our software helps us to keep track of our carers and gives them all the information needed to do their job, tasks to check off, including security of your home, right on their smart phone. It also ensures no pet or task is ever forgotten!
Our Pet Nannies will send detailed visit reports include 'GPS Tracker' maps about each visit so you can see exactly the route your dog walker took, where and when the Pet Nanny arrived and left your home, photos and a list of tasks performed.
Your home will be respected and secure with our team, who are police checked and understand the immense trust you have placed with us when you hand us a key. Not only are we watching your pet but we are also actively watching over the security of your home
We will notified if our sitter hasn't signed in at your home on time and also if they haven't signed out when they should. This is for your pets safety and for our sitters.
We charge by time, not per animal. Each animal needs a minimum amount of time spent on them individually. We don't rush through a visit to fit in more animals.
The time to Pet software provides you with a convenient online interactive portal and mobile application for our clients to message us directly, book pet care, view their personal service calendar, update their billing information & pay for services.
We also do not use car advertising on our pet carers’ cars, which may alert people to your absence. We only have a Pet Taxi with advertising on it. This is the main business car and is used for any Long distance Pet Taxi work and can be used for large group dog outings.
THE MEET AND GREET
This visit is compulsory before the start of a client's first ever booking with The Pet Nannies. It is attended by your allocated Pet Carer and a Pet Nannies Manager, who will be the carers back up if ever your carer cannot attend a visit. The reason for this is to ensure you always know who is visiting your pets.
The Meet & Greet is beneficial for many reasons and it is free!
It allows our clients and their pet/s to get to know us and their allocated carer.
The client has a chance to discuss their service choices and get questions answered face to face.
Our carer can spend time with your pet, ensure it is a good match and also ask questions.
It is the best way for the client to communicate and demonstrate all the information about the pet/s sit e.g. the pet's routines, food storage, where the leashes are kept, toileting habits and areas the pet is not allowed etc.
If possible we will give the pet/s a brief medical check over so that we have a benchmark to go by should the pet’s state change while under our care, and also to ensure there are no obvious health issues before the client leaves home.
We can all brainstorm any issues that arise from the meeting.
It is the best way for the client to communicate and demonstrate all the information about their home we need to know, as we are also providing a home security service when we visit.
We will test entry methods and alarm codes and decide on key management. We can assess any safety issues for our sitter
PET STAFF (The P Nannies)
Worried about who will be in your house? The Pet Nannies are very particular about who becomes a Pet Nanny, and all have passed a police check.
Our Pet Carers can continue their education in all areas of pet care so that they can provide the best for you and your pet & proudly represent The Pet Nannies. All employees have varying experience with animals and have at least Pet First Aid training before commencing any pet sitting jobs.

I am an ex-Cardiac Radiographer Specialist and an event that happened late 2014 saw me leave my 24yr career. I have spent years looking for the animal care profession that was right for me. I have a good sense of humour, I’m honest and a hopeless empath, especially when it comes to animals.
I have been the proud owner of budgies, canaries, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, cats and a short stint with a Greyhound. I now have just one cat. I say ‘just’ one as, if I had the choice, there would be many, many more pets here. This is why I want to care for yours, to stop me from becoming a pet hoarder!
In 2015 I did a Pet Sitting Business Course which set me on this path. I then trained in Feline Psychology and Training, Canine and Feline Massage & Canine Psychology and Training. I have recently been studying Business and Marketing and loving that too.
I am the hub of the business and I’m always available to support clients and staff online or by phone. I remotely supervise all my staff & give support when needed. We work as a team so we always have backup, with me being Plan C!
